Carpool schedule for six families

A fair school carpool rotation for six families: mornings and afternoons, taking turns one school day at a time, with the afternoon starting one family later so nobody drives both ends of the same day.

With six families and two trips a day, each family drives about 1.7 trips a week. When a holiday falls on a school day, the rotation simply picks up the next school day where it left off, so nobody loses or gains a turn.

Other ways to split it

Same weekdays every week: each family keeps its days (the Garcias on Mondays, the Lees on Tuesdays…). Easy to remember, but holidays land unevenly: Monday families lose the most trips.
A week each: one family does every trip for a week, then hands over. Fewer handoffs, but a long week for the driving family.
